the real gtm engineering talent pool is like 20 people.
you can't afford to hire them.
even if you could, you wouldn't know how to vet them.
and even if you could afford and vet them, you probably don't know how to manage them well.
the pool of leaders who can point them at the right problem is even smaller.
a great gtm engineer aimed at the wrong problem just builds you a faster way to do the wrong thing.
Option 1: take the gigantic risk and spend 100k+ on payroll and a failed ramp hiring someone who knows how to use clay
Option 2: hire apero advisors who has years of gtme experience driving real outcomes across multiple industries, motions and segments
People hire us to mitigate risk in implementing new technologies and because we can provide strategic guidance on making your GTM org AI pilled
Not just for producing"leads" and sending cold emails or unf***ing your sfdc instance

how it feels to be a gtm engineer who is now doing full cycle sales again
anyways
full cycle or full stack gtm engineering is p cool
some stuff im doing in service of full cycle sales:
• grokbot making me decks/proposals, it's all hooked up to past SOWs and ofc the CRM
• morning brief with everything i need to do that day
• agents running the newsletter via resend
• built an internal slackbot for CRM interfacing so no one has to log into sfdc
bunch of other stuff too
i automaically enrich buying committees and use a MEDDICC-lite framework for making sure all relevant potential buyers are in the CRM with the proper contact role in sfdc
sometimes when my add starts hitting me really hard and im low on caffiene i just ask grokbot what i should be doing to maximize my meatproxy status for the day
anyways
if you want to buy some gtm engineering services hit me up

if you are a gtm engineer and you're applying for a role you really need to have a portfolio
michael and i posted that we have recently signed a ton of big clients and will soon need an additional pair of hands on keyboard to do fulfillment
i got a ton of inbound interest which is great! and if you have messaged me about this, please do not take this as malicious but rather constructive criticism because i care about my fellow claude code using spammers and want you to all win and hit the inbox
things you should have:
• a github with something i can look at, even if its vibe coded thats fine, i'm not a real "coder" im just a big token spender
• some jsons or something idk
• mermaid charts explaining CRM logic or something else
• a loom acct with some videos
• examples of copy you've written and the process behind them
and i mean there's a bunch of other stuff you could do that goes beyond that.
if you want to see an example of a good portfolio (im kind of biased) you can look at my site benyamin (.) ai, and go to the portfolio section. btw the code is messed up so some of the graphics aren't rendering properly and i havent had time to fix it, but it will at least give you an idea of what kind of stuff i personally found helpful in showcasing my skills
things i got:
• claude generated landing pages with list of things they're good at (no proof???)
• claude generated landing pages with emdashes - listen im guilty of this stuff too as i got really busy at apero some thi…

i have decided to write a book
an e-book, more specifically
no it wont be the length of war and peace
but it will be the size of like... idk. a short teen sci fi novel. think animorphs. proabbly same reading level too.
it's going to be called 𝘎𝘛𝘔 2𝘒27: 𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘵𝘰 𝘚𝘦𝘭𝘭 𝘵𝘰 𝘏𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘯𝘴
first question everyone asks: are you using AI to write it?
yes and no.
AI did the scaffolding. it pulled everything i've written, posts, articles, podcast recordings, plus the questions people actually ask on calls and on reddit, and turned it into an outline and a set of interview prompts for every chapter to make sure that i'm actually answering questions people want to know the answer to. yes i SEO-ified the book. sue me. (don't actually sue me i'm too emotionally fragile for that)
it'll help me edit too.
but the words will be 100% me actually sitting down and typing my actual human thoughts.
every chapter is a question i hear all the time:
does cold email still work?
what does a GTM engineer actually do?
should i buy clay or build my own with claude code?
how do i show up in chatgpt?
theory first, then what's working right now. with the caveat that half of it will be wrong in 18 months.
and since half of you will just hand it to your agent anyway, it'll also come as a markdown file. one for the whole book, one per chapter, with notes on when your agent should use each one and workflow prompts for your agents on how to specifically achieve these outcomes.
written by a human, for humans.…

24 months or less until total commodification of gtm engineering skill sets.
simply knowing what a DNS record is doesn't matter anymore.
grokbot just builds my clay tables now.
has my grokbot instance been trained on my own skills and knowhow? yes.
but those skills were built over my sales career and other business pursuits.
if you package commodified gtm skills into an agent, it still doesn't account for the nuance i picked up sifting through thousands and thousands of account records after a TAM scoring exercise.
lots of people are building gtme specific agents and apps now, which is great. but i wonder how many of them have the real skills and knowhow to package and productize those workflows correctly.
then there are tools like Frontrunner building actual gtm harnesses. i had a chat with Maya Nayyar at Frontrunner recently, and the way she put it, they've "essentially just built a harness for go to market," one you can use through the ui or run headless. plug into where your data already lives, turn it into a graph of your business, run a fleet of agents on top.
6 or 7 months ago i was pretty skeptical of that stuff. i do most of it through cursor and grokbot.
now i'm hitting some of my own personal limits on certain workflows. probably a skill issue on my end. but it has me wondering how the reasoning that gets baked into llm training will change the way these tools work.
was thinking about the the data brokerage offers going around right now: buying people's…
