Shawn Tenam 🏴☠️ was a plumber before he became a GTM Engineer. So when people ask me if you need to know code to be a great GTME, I point them to him. And he's not the only one. There are tens of thousands like him. In the last 2 to 3 years, people went from knowing nothing about this to being brilliant GTM engineers. And what they all have in common is curiosity. They like solving fun, hard problems. Some are super creative, some are super structured, and both do great. Claude Code is a cheat code for GTMEs right now, and you don't have to be a coder to use it. Anyone can figure it out in a day, and everyone should be using it. Knowing some code also helps. It makes you more dangerous. But you don't need it to get started. P.S. Tell me what job you had before GTM.
